Class Description

Each yoga class and yoga teacher are unique. Please find below a basic description of the asana styles we offer, keeping in mind that the teacher will provide you with an explanation of their own at the beginning of the class that can slightly differ to this one.

Classes with no mention of levels are suitable for all levels and the sequence and variations will be adapted to any levels from beginners to advanced practitioners.

Classes mentioning "Advanced" are for intermediate and advanced practitioners, not beginners.

Vinyasa Yoga

The term Vinyasa is derived from nyasa, meaning “to place,” and vi, meaning “in a special way.” It is a yoga practice where you will move with your breath. Each sequence and class is unique, with a unique theme. You will explore a variety of asana all linked together with a clear purpose. This class is an active yoga class where you will build heat. You will leave feeling energized, ready for your day.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. It is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. This class is NOT an active class. Expect to leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.

Power Yoga

The term Power Yoga refers mostly to the level of physical intensity; it is a vigorous practice that can be used as a “work-out.” You will move through a well planned sequence that will target some specific muscle groups to help you build strength and stability on and off the mat.

Slow Flow

These are our evening flow classes. You will move through a sequence at a slower pace than our vinyasa classes. This can be the time for you to explore moving slower and reconnecting to yourself and your breath. The level of the asana will be adapted to the students presents in class and their needs.

Mandala Flow

Mandala yoga, also known as Mandala Vinyasa, or Mandala Flow, is a type of yoga that uses the principles of mandala design to create a flowing, meditative practice that moves around the mat 360 degrees.

Mandalas are circular designs that represent the universe or the cycles of life. In yoga, mandalas help focus the mind and create a sense of peace and well-being. Mandala yoga sequences are fun, energizing, and creative and a great way to spice up your yoga practice.

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga, also called Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, is a dynamic form of hatha yoga, with a fixed order of postures. It is rooted in vinyasa, the flowing movements between postures, with a focus on energy and breath. While it is a very physical practice, it also promotes mental clarity and inner peace. In this class, you will practice an adapted version of the half primary series of Ashtanga to fit the length of the class.

Rocket Yoga

Rocket Yoga, also known as the “Rocket” series, is a fast-paced style of yoga that was created by Larry Schultz in the 1980s. This innovative style of yoga combines traditional Ashtanga Yoga and dynamic sequences. This style of yoga was created to make the Ashtanga Yoga poses more accessible. Except to sweat and feel good and full of energy at the end of the class!

Surf Recovery

Our Surf Recovery class focuses on releasing tension in the body, gaining flexibility and improving mobility. You will leave this class feeling revitalized and ready to hit the beach for sunset.

Not a surfer? No problem! Join us for gentle yummy stretches and good vibes.
