Being a Yoga Teacher means orienting your life towards your highest potential. It is a commitment to not only yourself, but to others as well. This training has been designed for those who believe, feel, and know that yoga is more than the physical practice of asana.
Our intention is to properly train yoga students to become strong, confident, and knowledgeable teachers.
In addition to all of the relevant information about Yoga philosophy, theory and teaching skills; we put a strong emphasis on developing your personal practice thus your training will be oriented toward deepening your own practice while showing you how to teach others.
By the end of the course, you will be able to confidently teach a range of classes including Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Power, Yin, and Restorative.

COURSE PROGRAM

• The Primary Series of the Ashtanga Vinyasa System as well as adjustments for the Primary Series
• Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga practice, modifications and adjustments
• Successful sequencing of a 90 minute yoga class (Vinyasa, Hatha or Power)
• Pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation
• Yoga philosophy including the eight limbs of yoga and how to incorporate key elements into your teaching
• Learn about the chakras including characteristics, location, and how they are responsible for the way we move
• Understanding the koshas and how they relate to the way we learn
• Practical anatomy
• Establishing a successful self-practice
• Ayurveda workshop and optional consultation by an Ayurveda Specialist
• Small groups guarantee with maximum 16 students per training

LOCATION

Yoga Bliss is located on Lembongan island, 30 minutes away from Bali. As a lot of travellers say it’s like Bali used to be 20 years ago. White sandy beach, blue clear water, quiet and a perfect spiritual place. This island paradise begin to be a must to visit from Bali away from the traffic jam or the hawkers. A perfect place to relax, where the only things to do are diving, snorkelling, surfing, hiking, sunbathing and yoga.

Our shala is in the heart of Lembongan close to all commodities. The beach is only 5 minutes away, but as you will see everything is really close on the island as its size is approximately 8km².

FOOD

Food is important as it’s what keeping us functioning. We choose what we eat but sometimes we loose track and it can be hard in our busy world to take care of ourselves. What you eat affects your body and your mind in different way.

During your training with us you will have the time to explore new food, new way of eating and cleansing, It will always be a choice coming from you and we will not ask you to follow a particular path.

We will provide you 3 meals a day of healthy local food at our Green Garden Eco Warung, located at the same place than the shala. You will have the choice between a vegan, a vegetarian and a meat option.

ACCOMMODATION

During your course you will stay in a partner Guesthouse or directly in one of our wooden bungalow. The guesthouse is located just 5 minutes walk from Yoga Bliss and offers nice room with double large bed, AC or fan, private bathroom and wifi. The wooden bungalows are just at the back of the yoga shala and offer AC, double bed, private bathroom and a mini fridge.

PROGRAM

Your training will be oriented to deepen your own practice while showing you how to teach others.

Asana:

The morning practice will be a yang class in the style of either Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Power or Hatha Yoga with a focus on building strength and endurance.

The afternoon practice will be a Yin or Restorative class to restore physical balance, gain flexibility, and calm the mind.

Meditation:

We will introduce you multiple meditation techniques to help you establish a daily practice.

Anatomy and physiology:

We will be discussing how the bones, muscles, joints, and all of the systems of the body interact and work together to support and maintain our physical bodies.

Pranayama:

We will be teaching different techniques to control the prana (life force) within each and everyone of us. Different pranayama techniques have different effects on the body, mind and energy system–some more activating and some more calming. We will teach you how to incorporate pranayama into your everyday life.

Asana and teaching lab:

Learning to align ourselves correctly in poses keeps us stable and safe from injury, while maximising the benefits from each pose. We will guide you in how to correctly align yourself, and your students, in postures, and will show different variations to effectively teach all levels. The teaching of hands-on adjustments will also be discussed so that students can be physically guided into better alignment, more depth and/or relaxation in postures.

Philosophy, texts and concepts:

We will dive into the history and philosophy of Yoga and how this ancient tradition developed from it’s strong Hindu mythological influence to the more Westernized version we often experience today. We will explore excerpts from some of the most influential Yoga texts including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, Heart of Yoga, and Light on Yoga.

PREREQUISITES

To teach Yoga authentically, we must first have an established personal practice.
During this intensive course we will practice many different styles of yoga including Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Power, Restorative and Yin Yoga.

You feel ready to take the next step and wish to become a Certified Yoga Teacher?

We recommend you to have at least 1 year of a regular and dedicated Yoga asana practice and to have at least 6 months of Ashtanga Yoga practice.

You wish to develop your own practice, learn more about Yoga and all its aspects, but you are not ready or do not wish to become a certified Yoga Teacher yet?

This course is also for you! It can be difficult to find the time and/or a place where to learn and practice more intensively than drop-in classes, so this is an opportunity to do so without expectation of becoming a yoga teacher.
If this is your wish, we recommend you to have practiced any style of yoga for at least 6 months. We will work with you to develop a daily asana, pranayama and meditation practice that best suits you. You will be able to follow exactly the same class schedule as those who are choosing to become certified, without the stress of completing a final examination.

FINAL ASSESSMENT

During the last week of the training you will have different assessment to complete, some written and some practical.
