Although practicing in a group yoga class brings it’s own rewards and unique energy, it can sometimes yield a tendency to compare our practice with that of our fellow practitioners, and in the worst case scenario – arouse a touch of competitiveness too. Since we’re all blessed with unique skeletons and body structures, a pose that benefits one person might cause discomfort to another. The concept of ‘clone yoga’ where a class full of students practice an identical pose perfectly is unrealistic and potentially unsafe. In a private 1-on-1 yoga class you’ll have the opportunity to truly focus on your own practice and tune in to what your body needs. You’ll work closely with your teacher to create a bespoke tailor-made class with poses to stretch and strengthen specific areas of your body that need it, and breathing and meditation techniques that will help tackle your lifestyle off the mat too.
Yoga was traditionally taught one-on-one and whether a weekly necessity or an adhoc indulgence, it’s the perfect way to address your personal needs and intentions and really make your yoga practice work for you.
