To be certified as a yoga teacher you will need to follow the full course and complete the final exams.

You feel ready to take the next step and wish to become a Certified Yoga Teacher?

We recommend you to have at least 1 year of a regular and dedicated Yoga asana practice in Ashtanga, Vinyasa or Hatha yoga.

We will work with you to develop a daily asana, pranayama and meditation practice that best suits you. NUSA LEMBONGAN

This course will be held at Yoga Bliss Lembongan, located on Nusa Lembongan island, 30 minutes away from Bali by boat. As a lot of travellers say Lembongan is similar to what Bali used to be 20 years ago. White sandy beach, blue clear water, quiet and a perfect spiritual place. This island paradise begin to be a must to visit from Bali away from the traffic jam or the hawkers. A perfect place to relax, where the only things to do are diving, snorkelling, surfing, sunbathing and of course yoga.

THE SHALA

Yoga Bliss is in the heart of Nusa Lembongan close to all commodities. The beach is only 5 minutes walk away, but as you will see everything is really close on the island as its size is approximately 7km².

We have two beautiful shala:  one indoor shala with air conditioning and an equipment room (for our mountain of props) and an open air shala equipped with props and fan to enjoy the wind.

ACCOMMODATION

All the rooms at Green Garden Bungalows are on site and offer:

– Access to the swimming-pool
– Private terrace
– Private semi-outdoor bathroom with garden and hot water
- Air conditioning, mosquito net, WIFI, fridge, kettle and an umbrella.

If you choose the shared room, you will share these facilities with one other student. In this last case, you will occupied a twin bed room and have of course your own bed.

FOOD

Food is important as it’s what keeping us functioning. We choose what we eat but sometimes we loose track and it can be hard in our busy world to take care of ourselves. What you eat affects your body and your mind in different way. If you choose the full pension package, Green Garden Restaurant will provide you 3 meals a day of healthy local food. The Restaurant is located just at the front of the shala.

You will have the choice between:

– A package not including food to have the freedom to eat wherever you want

– A package including breakfast only or full pension to save you some times between classes (meat/fish, vegan and vegetarian options).

Your Teachers

Lisa Chamberlain and Gwendoline Ferreira  are the led teachers of this 200hour Yoga Teacher Training Course.

Although Gwen and Lisa met just a few years ago, their journey through Yoga shares many similarities. Their current lives are vastly different from what they were a decade ago when, prior to leaving for what was meant to be only a few months of travelling, they had careers, relationships and family that they made the difficult decision to leave behind.

Throughout their individual journeys they have completely transformed their lives, and themselves, in order to live in accordance with their life’s purpose. To say the journey has been easy would be erroneous, as they have certainly faced many challenges along the way. However, overcoming these obstacles has served to give them further clarity about their path, and their purpose, and the transparency has continued throughout their symbiotic relationship and development of Yoga Bliss.

From irregular students to dedicated practitioners, to then teachers and then teacher trainers, they have had the honour of teaching thousands of students. They also firmly believe that the best teachers find themselves first a foremost a student, and so they have each completed dozens of relevant courses, and continue to do so on a regular basis.

Their many years of practice has provided them with the tools to become clear about their purpose: to help others find their own life’s purpose through the practice of Yoga.

Tash

I did the Sept 2017 YTTC. Gwen is the don of ashtanga, I love her! She gives it to you straight and is dedicated to creating solid teachers, which means she does give you some hard truths at times. I value this as I want to be able to represent ashtanga and yoga in general as a legitimate practitioner, especially as some courses seem to just give away the teacher training certification. She has a great cheeky sense of humour as she teaches and we all improved a lot. She taught an amazing anatomy course which she made funny and super interesting as it was yoga-specific. We had lots of teaching time (leading the morning practice and in the asana and yin labs) which meant we left feeling confident we could teach. As a dance teacher it also helped me feel confident on my feet when teaching a new ballet class as I’d had so much teaching practice. The second teacher’s sessions were hard work as it was warm in the afternoons, but she really powered through and kept us going. It took me a long time to accept the yoga philosophy and integrate it into my own Nichiren Buddhist beliefs but by the end I felt a real cohesion between the two, and I’m glad for that. As a vegan I did get bored of the menu, but to be honest I’m quite funny about food… There are other places on the island for fab vegan food so as long as you’re willing to treat yourself now and again you can switch it up. I’m really glad I chose this yoga alliance certified teacher training certification as meeting the two teachers and 15 other beautiful humans was a precious experience. You will be tired, but you will grow a lot. And snorkelling with manta rays was unforgettable – they’re sooo beautiful and majestic!

Kevin

Every year for the past few years, I’ve followed a YTTC somewhere abroad. Some are good, some are less good :-). This year in July I participated in the YOGA BLISS 200 hour yoga teacher trainings. I choose this one, because everything was included: homestay, food (which was the best on the island) and training. But I got so much more than I expected. The yoga bliss TTC is by far the best yoga teacher trainings I’ve followed so far and is yoga alliance certified!! The teachers are very skilled and passionate about what they teach. They are two very real, authentic people, who are living their mission. And that is why this TTC is an absolute must do if you want to integrate yoga in your daily life. The teachers are such good teachers because they walk their talk. They will tell you all about yoga, but more important, you can see and feel what they are telling you. So yes they are yogini’s. But on top of that, they are walking their talk without forgetting to show their own vulnerability and flaws. By showing themselves as they are, they embody what yoga stands for: you don’t have to be perfect, just be you, as you are. And work from where you are, in this moment. This adds up why this teacher training certification is so good. It creates an environment of thrust were everyone can grow at his/her own pace. The teachers really team up for a unique balanced yin-yang approach. They’ve inspired the whole group to find our balance between “effort and surrender”. On our yoga mat. And in life. Because Yoga is life. PS: and of course Bali is great! Thank you so much for sharing your gift !!!

Hanna

Yoga Bliss offers an inspirational YTT in a beautiful location with a great connection to nature. The standard of the teaching and the knowledge imparted is next to none and I have come away feeling fully prepared to continue my self practice and teach yoga to people all over the world.

Hollie

I have done several yoga teacher training before in different lineages, but this one by far is the most informed, content packed one yet! I was surprised by the level of content and knowledge given throughout this yoga alliance certified yoga teacher training. The Ashtanga teacher is an extremely competent and knowledgable teacher, I learnt so much from her, I’m very happy with the course. The structure of this 200 hour yoga teacher training is perfect, the shala is beautiful, the food in green garden is amazing, along with the staff. I really could not of wished for a better yoga teacher training Loved the mix of yin and yang and feel fully ready to teach now. Best registered yoga school yet! Thank you to both incredible teachers! And of course everyone at green garden for this amazing 200-hour teacher training. It was a pleasure!

Niamh

Settled in the nusa Lembongan island. Away from the main road but close walk to the beach. Yoga bliss is little Oasis. Gwen and Lisa share the knowledge of yoga and all what is it. They guide you in helping you to understand the philosophy and anatomy of yoga. They open up a little door of knowledge behind yoga that makes you leave wanting to go deeper and deeper into this world of knowledge.

Juliette

Amazing experience! This really was life changing. The course content was really comprehensive and Lisa and Gwen are incredibly knowledgeable tutors. As well as it being a great academic experience it also provided a catalyst for personal growth and change. I was really impressed with the program and the level of expectation in the students. The small class size of 16 was great in promoting a feeling of family and unity. An awesome group of like minded people there for the same outcome. It was great to get training on both yin style and yang style yoga. I feel I have come away with a lot to offer as a yoga teacher. The philosophy component has changed my whole personal practice and how I feel about yoga day to day on and off the mat. The anatomy component was really comprehensive. Highly recommend this course :D

Nanna

Best decision ever made. The teachers are incredible at what they do. They gave me a whole new understanding of yoga and my personal practise, which I’ll be forever grateful for. The yoga teacher training program, the shala, the food and the homestay was all in high standard, and I couldn’t have asked for more. I feel ready to embrace my future as a certified yoga teacher with the new tools this yoga teacher training has given me. I can’t recommend this experience highly enough. I would do it all over again at any time.

Natalia

I wholeheartedly recommend this yoga teacher training to anyone who is either wanting to deepen their practice or become a certified Yoga teacher. The content and schedule of the course exceeded expectations. The food was incredible (breakfast was my favourite – smoothie bowls and fresh fruit juices), and the teacher really goes out of her way to make sure you’re not only having a great experience, but also that you’re getting what you want from the course.yoga teacher training. Beyond the course, a snorkelling excursion and massage were included which were both fantastic experiences. I gained considerable knowledge about ashtanga and yin yoga as well as anatomy, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy, and so much more on a personal level. This was a life changing and personal growth experience for me and will never forget it.

Veronika

I took part at Yoga Bliss’ yoga teacher training at Lembongan this year! Best choice ever! The teachers taught as everything we wanted to know about Yin & Yang practice. Philosophy and Anatomy were absolutely interesting and they made it easy for everyone to follow, without making any shortcuts. We also learned different Pranayama and Meditation techniques and involved them more and more in our daily practice, everyone in his/her own tempo and knowledge. Food was healthy, delicious and local, you can choose your own option, vegan, veggie or meat. Over all I had an amazing time, met amazing people and would do it absolutely again! Thanks again for this great yoga teacher training! Namaste!

Norman

I did a 200 hour yoga teacher training at Yoga Bliss. The location is amazing and hidden in a tiny banana tree jungle, away from the main road, a 10 mn walk to the beach. Friendly and attentive staff at the Green Garden Restaurant (family owned), yummy food & drinks. Attending a yoga teacher training was one of the best decision I’ve taken. Even if you don’t wish to teach after it and gain a yoga instructor certification, the amazing teachers will share their knowledge, stories with passion and help you on your spiritual journey. I highly recommend this place on beautiful, still quiet Nusa Lembongan Island.

Tina

I learned so much in this yoga alliance certified teacher training and loved every minute of it. It is as you may expect pretty intense, but to me it was actually liberating to just focus on one single thing for three weeks. Such a good and rewarding experience. Teachers are great, and the restaurant and shala nice! Food is good and healthy and the staff very friendly. I would recommend staying in the rooms of Yoga bliss, they are really nice. One of the best experiences in my life! Thank you !!!

Isabelle

This teacher training certification was such an amazing experience and truly surpassed my expectations. The day was split between yang style in the morning and yin in the afternoon which I found to be a perfect balance. The schedule is intense compared to an online yoga teacher course as it sums up to 12 hours of training a day and one day off a week, so if you plan to visit the island a bit, i would recommend coming a few days early or leaving a few days later after the yoga teacher training has ended. The teachers were excellent. The Ashtanga teacher is very knowledgeable in ashtanga which she gained from Mysore. The philosophy and Yin teacher is wonderful and would engage with us on various topics leading to interesting discussions. The shala is very peaceful and green, a perfect place to practice. Make sure you have enough experience in ashtanga (practicing the full primary) if you really want to teach otherwise you will have the choice to complete the program as a practitioner wanting to deepen his own practice. It is best to recognise where your practice is and be realistic with yourself if you can really teach at this stage being. You will also be enjoying fresh smoothie bowls everyday. This teacher training certification program is highly recommended for its price for value! Thank you for a wonderful experience I will never forget and hope to share what Ive learnt with others

Yoga Teacher Training

Faqs

What is a 200-Hour Teacher Training?

Students and teachers who are serious about yoga and who crave more knowledge will often decide to pursue education beyond their 200hour teacher training. There are a variety of different areas and styles you can train in as continuing education, but in order to qualify as a 200-hour, the content needs to be “advanced”. That means that it goes beyond what information would be covered in a 200hour, entry-level training. Therefore, a 200-hour training is not just 1.5 times the training hours, it is an entirely advanced training; from advanced asana, pranayama and meditation techniques, to exploring advanced philosophy, methods of teaching, anatomy, and hands-on adjustments. A 300-hour training will enable you to list yourself as a 500hour teacher, the highest level that is actually recognized by Yoga Alliance.

Why should I choose Yoga Bliss’ 200-hour Teacher Training?

What makes this training different than the rest? We put unparalleled emphasis on helping each individual student succeed. Instead of providing the exact same curriculum and path for all students, we spend a great deal of time supporting you on your own individual journey; in helping you to discover and hone what makes you unique so that you may stand out as a Yoga teacher and develop a dedicated student base. Right from the very first week you will have one-on-one time with our teachers so that you can explore and develop in the areas that you are most drawn toward or want to grow in.

Can I take this training if I hold a 200-Hour degree from another yoga school?

Absolutely! Regardless of what style(s) you have trained in before, as long as you have completed a 200hr training, Yoga Bliss welcomes you to our 200hour advanced program. Our teachers have trained in a variety of different styles and lineages, and so they are well-equipped to support you in whatever style of Yoga you wish to teach. If you did not complete your 200hour with Yoga Bliss, you will need to complete our online anatomy course prior to attending. Pre-training access to our anatomy course is covered by your tuition fees, if you’d like lifetime access there will be an additional fee.

What is the base level of knowledge required for this 200-Hour Training?

Most 200-Hour programs cover the same foundational topics, including some Yogic philosophy, teaching methodology, anatomy and physiology, and a focus on at least one Yoga style (ie Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa, or Yin Yoga). The anatomy taught in most 200hour trainings is largely insufficient, especially considering that the majority of students end up teaching asana, which is of course a physical practice. If you completed your 200hour training with a school other than Yoga Bliss, you will be required to complete our online anatomy course prior to attending this training to ensure your anatomy knowledge is up-to-date. Pre-training access to our anatomy course is covered by your tuition fees, if you’d like lifetime access there will be an additional fee.

What are the requirements for registering as a 500hr teacher?

This course fulfils 270 of the 200 hours required in order to attain your certification and thus register with Yoga Alliance as a 500hr teacher. If you are already a 200RYT with the Yoga Alliance, upon receiving your certificate you may upgrade your registration with the Yoga Alliance to a 500RYT. The additional 30 hours will be a project that is required to be submitted and will be assessed in order for you to receive your certificate. We will provide you the project guidelines at the beginning of your course, so you can choose to work on it throughout and complete it during the training, or submit it after you’ve left. There is no time limit.

Can I take this course for personal reasons or just to deepen my yogic knowledge?

Of course! Fulfilling the above requirements are if you would like to register yourself as a 500RYT with Yoga Alliance. You may choose to forego or delay certification and simply enjoy this deep, enriching experience.

Keep in mind that Yoga Alliance is a business, they are simply a registry that is optional for Yoga teachers to pay to join. Yoga Alliance is not sanctioned by any local, state, or federal government. Paying Yoga Alliance to be listed in their registry is not a requirement to get insurance or to be legally allowed to teach Yoga.

Can this YTT help me create an online yoga course or teach online?

Absolutely! We are passionate about giving you the tools that YOU need in order to succeed on your path. If your path is creating courses or teaching online, we will give you support in following your own journey. Our teachers have created multiple, successful online courses, and taught both public and private online classes as well. Because our focus is on helping students at an individual level, we can support you in whatever areas that you need in order to find your own success.

I have read everything and I am still unsure, is there someone I can talk to face-to-face?

We understand how difficult the decision to embark on this journey can be, we are committed to supporting all students in any way that we can. If you after reading through these FAQs and our PDF you still have questions but prefer to speak to a live person, sendus an email at yogablisslembongan@gmail.com to have a free chat with us.
